Friend Sandwich Week One

No Bologna Please!

1) Mom’s lunches

a. Bologna everyday @ the beginning of the year

b. I got used to it, until one day she gave me pizza. I don’t remember much about the other lunches, but I do remember the day I got something different than what I was used to being offered.

c. Sometimes that’s what we do in our relationships. We just give Bologna everyday… and it’s not bad, it’s just average and normal.

2) Most of our best memories come from times with our friends

a. Time where things were different than other moments

b. These memories are like stars in our lives.

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times..”

I want us to learn how to love people in two ways tonight.

1) Love Spiritually

a. Breathe in without exhaling and eventually you’ll pass out.

b. So breathe out into your friends

2) Love Intentionally

1 John 3:16-18

a. Illustration: My friends Janna and Kelly picked one person in their class to celebrate everyday. They decorated lockers, wrote cards and would sneak into classes early and write on the chalk board “So and So is awesome!”

b. Pic one person a day or week and make them the person you’re going to create a star… a special memory for.

It’s what we do on purpose that reveals His and our hearts.
